All logo design projects are undertaken with one goal in mind: to provide the client with an identity that is unique, eye-catching, and durable. A proper balance must also be struck between achieving a contemporary design while avoiding fads or clichés. A thorough and rigorous research phase precedes the design process with the goal of devising a strong expression of the organization’s brand identity that reflects the values and promise behind it, whether it be a service business, tech company, or non-profit.
The brief from data solution provider Data Domain was to update the company mark, providing greater recognition and brand presence, especially amongst competitors and within online media environments. The work and thought behind the new logo design was extended to all pieces of the stationery system, including business cards, envelopes and letterhead. On assignment for Crimson Consulting Group, a series of DVD sleeves were designed for Hewlett Packard’s Print on Demand group. Custom sleeves were also created for a variety of content providers, including this example for Major League Baseball. The sleeves themselves are simple and tailored toward niche interests at a low price point. Nonetheless, the design work still needed to meet the expectations of today’s digital media consumers.
KidzMouse specializes in production of computer accessories designed for children. To enhance their marketability, license agreements were reached with key entertainment licensees such as Disney and Nickelodeon who allowed the KidzMouse products and packaging to bear popular characters and thematic artwork. The packaging was designed to maximize these licensed art assets as well as give consumers a good view of the products themselves.
RARE is a Washington D.C.-based organization that provides tools and education that help global communities to develop programs that are economically self-sustaining and environmentally responsible. This brochure was developed in partnership with cosmetics company Aveda as part of a customer rewards program.
Montalvo wanted to update and improve the look of their quarterly member newsletter. The new oversized page design provided layout flexibility while giving the reader easy access to content focusing on the organization’s various initiatives and programs. The response was overwhelmingly positive, both from members as well as staffers and the board.
To maximize interest in Montalvo’s gallery exhibits, this two-sided mailer was conceived. The "outside" served as a mini-program while the reverse became a poster, suitable for display. Colors, placement of images and text layout of each mailer were tailored to be sympathetic to the artist’s work and photography incorporated in the piece.
This sales kit combined a quick reference flip chart and a CD-ROM containing reference materials, demos, and useful information to help the Citrix channel sales force better understand and communicate features and benefits of the Secure Gateway offering.
